Help preserve a pivotal part of British Columbia’s history.
Join the S.S. Sicamous Restoration Society and become a part of history!
Touch the past. Feel the romance.
As a member of the Society you can enjoy touring the S. S. Sicamous and S.S. Naramata without paying admission fees simply by showing your membership card.
The S.S. Sicamous Restoration Society is a non-profit charitable organization devoted to preserving the Okanagan’s history through the remaining artifacts of the early vessels that played a pivotal role in the development of the communities surrounding Okanagan Lake, from the early days of Captain Thomas Short (a fascinating story on its own!) to the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Lake Service steam vessels.
You’ll receive regular reports on activities and projects on the ships (we MUST have your email address!)
Current projects include the ongoing maintenance and operation of the S.S. Sicamous, the tug/icebreaker S.S. Naramata, restoration of the CN Tug No. 6 and restoration of the ladies’ stern saloon of the S.S. Okanagan, last remaining artifact of this beloved sternwheeler. Your memberships and contributions also go to research, development and exhibition of displays that present the history, heritage and culture of the people, communities and ships of Okanagan Lake.
(NOTE: Admission fees for special events will still apply unless otherwise noted.)
Current members can renew their memberships online via PayPal, as well.
